It serves a customer service application or a specific report. When used for new purposes, the data is usually not easy to use. It needs to be transformed.
Russ merged an American football club’s scouting data with the league database. He helped shape mortgage data into an XML report that was submitted to the US government. He gathered multiple reports from insurers for a reinsurance company and prepared it to submit to their underwriting software. He gathered medical claims data from multiple insurance companies to produce reports to inform doctors about potential gaps in care.
